This Townhouses project with wooden interior for, wall, ceiling, floor panels and furniture by Johnston Architects PLLC. The design consists of two townhouses located a half block from the beach. They are locate in the Alki neighborhood in Seattle. Both houses have three bedroom with two master suites and equipped by a two-car garage. Glass facade and the rooftop desks capture views of the neighborhood, Seattle’s cityscape and the beach. Master bedrooms has an access to these terraces and large glass walls so they also capture some of these views. With spacious living spaces and quality finishes such as glulam beam framing, bamboo floor, marble countertops and fir cabinetry, the Alki Townhouses are both beautiful and practical.

Their site in the foothills above Snoqualmie is not far from work. The Schell Wheeler house will soon receive a LEED Silver certification. Blow-down trees from storms provided the logs that were milled into siding, fascias and trim. A ground source heat pump, supplemented by solar water preheating supplies energy to the house. Other strategies are implemented throughout the house, but the overall character of the two buildings completes the goal of sustainability: the complex is extremely livable within its environment. The Island House designed by WRB architect, this house was located on Archipelago of Stockholm. Built on 150 square feet areas (120 indoors) + sauna 20 sqm, the clients is a young family with children wished for a house that takes full advantage of scenic ocean view without becoming a dominating feature on the coastline. Important factors were also to create a house for leisure with a feeling of comfort and relaxation, a house to socialize in a house to feel spoiled by opposite to take care of.

Our concept for this project is a building that slightly back and elevated from the waterfront. Half hidden behind the knotty pine trees. Facing the ocean is a large area for socializing. A floor, a roof and a freely standing core for utilities make ip the part of the building. The sleeping rooms, storage and bathroom are gathered in a more closed structure behind the core. They face a secluded courtyard framed by rock formations and the old oak tree.
